I fearfully removed the cover from the electronic throttle control mechanism to see what it looked like inside. Still, I wouldn't rule out the sensors either. So, when clearing the codes the car will run fine for a short period of time like 15 days then the same codes pop again. This particular ratio was chosen because it was discovered to have the highest power output but lowest fuel consumption rate. While driving, the engine will occasionally stumble a bit. Actually I have rich code not lean. I found the small J shaped resonance chamber on the bottom completely full of clear oil!!! Having another thought bubble, is it possible that a consistent rich negative multiplicative long term fuel trim across both banks point to some type of intake restriction? So whatever is causing a detected richening of the mixture must be affecting both banks, however it's not throwing a code on bank 2.
What are the common causes of code P0172? Turn the engine off and make sure fuel pressure stays stable. When I was all finished with cleaning the throttle, curiosity got the best of me. Look for a connector with 3 or 5 wires. You could have another problem, too, though. If there is anything that you feel could improve the article, please feel free to comment or message.
I installed New Spark Plugs Bought it From the Dealer. Could be the front o2 sensor but I'd first be looking at the fuel system on that side. Very much appreciate the help you guys are giving! When the oxygen sensor is bad, it can cause a false reading and trigger the code. This can lead to all sorts of interesting results. Check for oil bypass in the cylinders, Personally I don't know which is correct , But figured I could give you an area to check , Good Luck Jul 12, 2011 2188 rich at idle,Ive seen the injector creat this fault by not having the ability to atomize fuel properly are you willy to put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the fuel tank. The nature of fuel injector failures will result in a mild condition indicated by this code, or result in other more apparent drivability symptoms that will be more obvious to the driver. Bank 1 is the set of cylinders in an engine that does not contain the number one cylinder.
Bank 1 refers to the rich condition being detected on the side of the engine with cylinder 1. I am not going to get into this too much here because it does not happen very often but I just wanted to bring it up so that you are are of this. Sometimes these leaks are hard to find. Those blocks and there actions are correct. The plugs should be fine.
Exhaust leaks actually suck in oxygen and taint the O2 sensors readings. This is where the importance of factory information becomes necessary to effectively diagnose a condition such as this. Though it took a few weeks last time. Will do some more logging and investigating on the weekend. Im sorry for long reply but I thought maybe u need this information to have a better view of this problem. Another thing you should consider is checking the oil.
I saw in the report that the injectors are fine as well as the vacuums. I think I would start with checking the spark plugs, perhaps doing a compression test, and a fuel pressure test. The problem is that i have replaced all 4 of my O2 oxygen sensors but still i am getting codes P0172, P1152. Hi ben, First of all, thanks for your reply. Would be money well spent I think.
When I turn off engine it drops slowly to reach only 50 psi. Most routinely, the air-fuel ratio will be measured through the oxygen sensors calculating the amount of oxygen and carbon monoxide present in exhaust gases. Any info is good info to put up on the forums for anyone having a similar issue in the future. I will inform you how it goes. Also, I'm guessing that 02 sensors would start reading anomalously richer as they age and get contaminated? Not enough fuel for a given amount of air or too much air for a given amount of fuel. I need to make sure… Is it vaccum leak? After replacing it I reset the codes but the car is still accelerating horribly. I will inform you how it goes.
It is also one of the most common. Equinox P0172 Code Symptoms The P0172 code on a Chevy Equinox will often be thrown if the fuel injection system is not operating properly. This time I checked block 032 to check the long term fuel trims and got the following: Idle 1. What the P0172 code means P0172 indicates that there is too much gasoline being detected in the exhaust gases exiting the combustion chamber. ملاحظة سريعة لكل شخص يعمل على شفرات تقليم الوقود: استبدال أجهزة استشعار نسبة الهواء للوقود أو مستشعرات الأكسجين لن يؤدي إلى حل هذه المشكلة. Logged Bank 1 is on your driver's side - standing in front of the car looking at the engine it's on the left. Idle vacuum should be 21-23 in.
Have checked all sensors are either good or replaced bad ones…injectors are new…no gas smells or excessive exhaust smoke…. Just all hoses and connections? Turn the engine off and make sure fuel pressure stays stable. Checking fuel pressure for P0171 If there are no air or vacuum leaks, you are going to want to rule out low fuel pressure. A good idea would be to check the spark plugs again for fouling. Lean mixture on banks 1 and 2. Hi ben, First of all, thanks for your reply.
